Indian Springs - Preston, NV Planning for spring channel restoration at this site is complete and is scheduled for construction in summer/fall 2009. Past alterations to the Indian Springs channels have caused severe decline in habitat for the federally endangered White River spinedace. USFWS and NDOW support the project to restore habitat for the spinedace, so that reintroduction can be considered. The restoration design calls for elimination of ditches that convey flow and a return of the small spring channel to the central wetland area in a more natural sinuous pattern.
